Associate Collections Counsel

POSITION SUMMARY: Coordinates office activities and performs personal secretary, clerical and administrative support services, such as payroll processing, scheduling meetings, preparing correspondence, and departmental inventory management.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR LICENSURE:



1.


High School diploma or equivalent.



EXPERIENCE:



1.


Two years additional training or related experience OR one year of secretarial training may substitute for experience.




PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



EXPERIENCE:



1.


Previous experience with payroll.



2.


Experience with of Microsoft Office Suite software applications, including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook.

1.


Maintaining office supplies for the Collection Department.



2.


Process and import incoming and outgoing mail for the Collection Department.



3.


Import documents into the collection software.



4.


Coordinate employee time cards with Payroll each pay period.



5.


Process and import new accounts into the collection software.



6.


Assist with the reconciliation of patient payments.



7.


Coordinate monthly expense reports with the Accounts Payable Department.



8.


Support performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives.



9.


Operates standard office equipment such as word processors, calculators, photocopiers, fax machines, etc. May be responsible for contacting service personnel to repair office equipment.



10.


Preparation of letters to patients.



11.


Preparation of legal/collection documents.



12.


Basic computer knowledge and ability to operate standard office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, WebEx, etc.)



13.


Types, edits and composes reports and correspondence of routine nature, as well as matters requiring confidentiality.



14.


Provide additional administrative support throughout the sections in the department for special projects. This may include answering telephones, scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars or other basic administrative assistant duties.

Capable of prolonged periods of standing and walking. May be required to walk to various areas throughout the Legal Department or hospital. This may require the use of elevators and/or stairs.

Capable of prolonged periods of sitting.

Manual dexterity used in operating standard office equipment.

Ability to push, pull or lift up to 25 pounds.

Basic computer knowledge and ability to operate standard office software preferred.

Able to type at least 35 wpm preferred.

Knowledge of legal terminology preferred.



4.


Must be able to maintain confidentiality of all information while performing tasks.



5.


Excellent oral and written communication skills.



6.


Excellent organizational skills.



7.


Basic mathematical skills preferred.
