Job Description
The Administrative Assistant II provides administrative support to the Arts and Humanities Division. Duties include, but are not limited to, preparing various documents, correspondence, agenda, memos, reports, and proposals; updating systems and databases for departmental use; maintaining files; ordering office supplies; maintaining a department calendar; maintaining budget records, and maintaining all records and reports.
The position supports front desk and building operations and performs other duties such as creating web pages, flyers and forms; reconciling reports; and organizing and setting up meetings and events; and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
This is a non-exempt staff position and includes a comprehensive benefits package offering medical, dental and vision coverage; generous paid time off; tuition assistance; and retirement savings.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

Required Education
An associate’s degree is required.
Required Experience
One to three years of administrative support experience is required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Computer proficiency in a Windows-based PC environment and strong communication skills, including Office 365, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Work requires light physical effort in the handling of office materials, such as boxes of copy paper and files.
Applicants selected for interview will be required to take keyboarding, proofreading, and Excel assessments in the College’s Test Center.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Banner for student information and scheduling classes; experience using scheduling software; and experience providing administrative support to faculty and department coordinators.
Hours per Week
40 - 100%
General Weekly Work Schedule
Monday to Friday; hours to be determined by the supervisor.
