Established nonprofit health advocacy association seeks an office professional for PART TIME work a few times a week.

With a presence in Alexandria, VA and Washington, DC, Men’s Health Network (MHN) is a non-profit educational organization made up of physicians, researchers, individuals, public health workers and other health professionals, Its mission is to significantly improve the health, longevity, and quality of life for men, boys, and their families. MHN's primary activities include seminars, educational exhibits at tradeshows, conventions and health fairs, health education materials, workplace health awareness, faith-based programs, college-based programs, fatherhood training, health outreach and education programs, and advocacy.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Must be results oriented and a team player.
Possess excellent verbal and written skills.
Self-starter (cannot be taught the job, must be able to get right into the work).
Should have a passion for promoting the health and wellbeing of men and boys.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for basic office support, including reception (mainly phone calls and emails, no clients coming to office), maintaining office inventory (on-site and off-site) and related orders, managing calendars, handling mail (bills and working with accounting), and composing letters and other documents. Maintain and update current client/partner database. Also may facilitate special event registration and execution. Other tasks as needed.

Alexandria, VA office, 4 blocks from the King Street Metro station.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday (flexible)

Experience:

  • Prior Non-profit experience a plus
  • Bookkeeping
  • General office work

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
