Administrative Assistant/Accounting Clerk
Job description
We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who is able to manage multiple tasks at once to fill our Accounting Clerk position. We need a candidate who has previous experience working in an office environment, handling customer accounts and completing basic administrative work. The Accounting Clerk will work closely with our Parts team to ensure that customers receive detailed, accurate and reliable information about their accounts. This is a full-time position with an opportunity for advancement.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the daily accounting functions of the business.
- Assist with various administrative tasks in the office.
- Prepare documents.
- Settle data entry errors.
- Communicate with accountants and managers about various tasks.
- Help keep accounting records up to date.
- Review expenditures for adherence to company policies.
- Apply accounting principles, regulations, and policies to all work duties
- Keep sensitive information confidential
- Perform general office support like filing and other administrative tasks
- Maintain, verify, and update numerous ledgers
- Help provide and prepare information for reports in a timely manner
- Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
- Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database
- Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
- Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
- Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- 1-3 years of accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Proficient with computers and eagerness to learn new computer accounting applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Reading comprehension skills strong enough to read and interpret financial documents
- General knowledge and understanding of accounting procedures
- Strong comfortability in an office environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
