Job description
The College of Professional Studies at Shawnee State University seeks qualified individuals beginning Fall and Spring Semester to serve as Part-time Faculty (Adjunct) in the School of Education to teach courses in the Master Degree Program(s) listed below:
- Curriculum and Instruction
- Intervention Specialist
- Intervention Specialist:Visually Impaired Teacher Li censure Program
- Orientation & Mobility Program
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
(EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, and EXPERIENCE)
- Terminal degree in the respective or related area
- Professional license/certificate in the respective area when applicable
- Possess excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills
- Experience using learning management technology in teaching
- Ability to use collaborative learning techniques and student centered methods of instruction
- Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multicultural environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend assignments – daytime availability a plus (in some cases, may be required)
- Ability to create community in online classes
DESIRED BACKGROUND and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in the licensed/certificated area.

Stipend is based on contact hour basis according to the highest degree held (see Adjunct Handbook, p20).
Employment with the University is dependent upon BOT budget approval for the current fiscal year. Background check is required prior to hire.
