Summary
Barry University's Adrian Dominican School of Education, Leadership, and Human Development (ADSOE-LHD) is currently seeking Adjunct Faculty.
ADSOE-LHD provides a quality education in a caring environment for the adult student population. In addition to the campus in Miami Shores, we have satellite sites throughout Florida, and in The Bahamas.
The Adjunct Faculty member will teach courses in the undergraduate or graduate programs at locations in Miami Shores, Off-Campus sites, and Online. Courses are delivered in several formats including asynchronous/online, hybrid, and face-to-face.
  • Courses are delivered in several formats including asynchronous/online, hybrid, and face-to-face, and terms are seven, 10, and 16 weeks in length (depending on program).
  • Class times vary, but are generally 3 hours each week on weekdays or on Saturdays. Generally, graduate courses are offered 3 hours once a week (during the evening).
  • Adjuncts are responsible for consulting with respective Program Directors in the development and execution of the course as well as additional responsibilities outlined in the faculty handbook.
This is a Hybrid (In-person/Remote) position
Essential Functions
We are currently seeking adjunct faculty to add to our roster of contract faculty for assignments on an as-needed basis for the following Undergraduate and Graduate Programs:
Curriculum, Pedagogy and Research Unit (CPaR):
  • BS in Education (Pre-K/Primary, Elementary and ESE)
  • Exceptional Student Education (MS)
  • Curriculum and Instruction (MS, EdS and PhD)
  • Reading and Literacy Studies (MS, EdS)
  • Educational Leadership (MS, EdS and EdD)
  • Montessori (Certificate Programs, MS and EdS)
  • School Psychology (MS and SSP)
Leadership and Professional Studies Unit (LaPS):
  • BS in Administration
  • BS in Organizational Leadership
  • Human Resource Development (MS)
  • Higher Education Administration (MS)
  • Leadership and Innovation (MS)
  • Organizational Leadership – Higher Ed and HRD Specializations (EdD)
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Master's degree is required.
  • Doctoral degree in Discipline of graduate teaching is preferred for MS/EdS courses and is required for PhD or EdD courses.
  • Applied experience in the field is required.
  • Prior college level teaching experience with adult student population is preferred.
  • Please note – if teaching in a fully online modality – completion of Barry University’s Online Instructor training will be required.
