Job description
The Learning Commons at Delaware County Community College seeks a qualified Adjunct Archivist. This individual is responsible for appraising, organizing, processing, maintaining, and providing access to the College's archival collections both physically and digitally.
The Adjunct Archivist will develop workflows and processes to enable the efficient processing of the collection. The College Archives contains photographs, correspondence, public relations and marketing materials, and other documents related to the institution and its functions. Projects will include digitizing the collection. The Adjunct Archivist will develop exhibits both physically at the College and online. The Adjunct Archivist may be required to answer reference questions related to the College archives in-person, through virtual chat or via email.
Experience & Education:
- Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
- Minimum of two years of experience in an academic library setting or archives.
- Demonstrated experience creating archival records.
- Knowledgeable with archival resource description and metadata schemas.
- Ability to work with a diverse library staff and community college constituency.
- Service-oriented, positive attitude, good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
- Ability to work independently under minimal direct supervision.
- Committed to professional development.
- Certified Archivist through the ACA.
- Experience digitizing collections or materials.
- Experience working on large-scale team-based projects.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
