Responsibilities of Activities Director:

• Plan and oversee recreational events and programs.
• Create and lead activities like arts and crafts, music, dance, and sports to develop our resident’s social skills and promote active healthy lifestyles.
• Design activities programs and training.
• Manage assistants and other staff.
• Complete the activities department’s MDS sections in a timely fashion.
• Create, monitor, and revise resident care plans.

Qualifications for Activities Director:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Certification by the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals
• Previous experience in Recreational Planning and Development in a health care setting
• A genuine interest in working closely with the geriatric population and their families
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills, as well as the ability to lead and manage others
