Eddy Village Green in Cohoes has a part time opening as an Activities Assistant.

Eddy Village Green consists of 16 ranch style homes, each accommodating 12 elders.

The primary responsibility of the Activities Assistant is to assist with events, activities and social programs planned for elders in a long term care facility.

If you enjoy the aging population, are energetic and enthusiastic, and enjoy working with the geriatric population, then this is the job for you.

A qualified candidate would have:

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent

• Experience in leadership, recreational programming, creative arts preferred .

• -Experience in a health-related setting a plus.
• Experience with the dementia population preferred.
• Open-minded and willing to learn
• Energetic and enthusiastic, positive attitude
• Willingness to drive 13 passenger van
• Valid NYS Driver's license and clean driver record required
• Good public speaking skills and the ability to run groups for elders

TOP 3 must haves and preferred skills of an ideal candidate:

Must be able to plan and implement appropriate activities for elders with and without dementia.

Must have computer knowledge for documentation purposes and planning purposes.

Must be flexible when needed for evening or weekend events.
