At UnityPoint Health - Eyerly Ball, we are currently looking for an ACT Vocational Specialist to work directly with clients of the Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACT). The position requires knowledge of the base practice model of ACT designed by NAMI to provide comprehensive and wrap around services to address client goals of mental health, physical health, housing, employment, social goals, and other goals identified by the client, knowledge of assessment and developing treatment plan goals.

As a ACT Vocational Specialist you will:

• In the role of ACT Vocational Specialist, work with the client and fellow team members towards meeting the outcome objectives and standards put forth by Polk County Health Services (PCHS).
• To provide vocational supports to clients of the ACT team as well as assist in educating and coordinating with team members to meet client vocational needs.
• Responsible for and have experience in client services, vocational supports, and documentation.
• Advocate for clients to help meet their needs, desires and best interests.
• Utilize critical thinking in making independent judgements and maintain responsibility and accountability to our clients.
• Ability to meet clients in their homes or in public places with ability to drive safely and a willingness to transport clients in own vehicle.
• Obtain medication management certificate within first three months of hire to be able to administer medication to clients.

Ideal Candidate:

• Capacity to professionally relate to a wide variety of clients, as well as a desire to serve as a client advocate.
• Ability to practice good verbal and written communication skills with ability to complete case notes timely.
• Capacity to communicate with clients effectively, patiently and respond professionally at all times.
• Ongoing passion about making a difference in the lives of those who have been touched by mental illness.

To be considered you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s Degreein human services, psychology or similar major
• Master’s Degree in Vocational Counseling – Preferred
• One year serving the population
• Experience with individuals with mental illness in the area of employment, job seeking and training – Preferred
• Ability to obtain a medication manager certificate within 3 months of hire
• Certified Rehabilitation Counselor in good standing – Preferred
• Ability to be CPR and First Aid trained – Preferred
• A valid driver’s license is required to transport clients as needed
• Required to provide proof of auto insurance coverage.

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, plus possible weekend and evening hours.
