Under general supervision responsible for the account’s payables related to financial records and audits.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Analyze invoices and expense reports for accuracy and eligibility for payment.

2. Ensures timely payment of vendor invoices and expense reports, troubleshoots, trains, and provides timely responses to suppliers and internal customers.

3. Supervise two accounts payable clerks; Assists with providing documentation for audit requests, 1099 printing and filing, vendor set up and maintenance, contributes to development of processes and procedures.

4. Maintains accurate accounts payable related financial records and control reports

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Ability to communicate both orally and in writing to obtain information from city personnel, to negotiate purchases or contracts and resolve problems with vendors.
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
• Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including but not limited to PC, keyboard, CRT, calculator and telephone.
• Ability to perform a variety of physical skills including, but not limited to performing data entry, sorting and writing.

Qualifying Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field, plus three years of accounts payable experience. At least two years of supervisory experience is preferred. May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements.
