Summary/Objective
The Accounts Payable Supervisor will oversee the Accounts Payable function and team to ensure accurate invoice entry, organization, timely disbursements, accurate reporting and proper reconciliation of accounts payable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish efficient operating processes for invoice receipt, GL coding, approval and entry into system, and document retention.
- Ensure timely payment disbursements
- Provide daily direction to the Accounts Payable team
- Work with business partners to ensure proper coding of invoices
- Prepare batch check runs, wire transfers, and ACH transactions.
- 1099 maintenance
- Respond to internal and external inquiries on a timely basis
- Manage month-end close for Accounts Payable processes
- Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies.
- Assist with weekly reporting on vendor payments and Accounts Payable balances
- Work closely with Accounting Department on proper coding and accounting treatment
- Investigate and resolve problems associated with processing of invoices and purchase orders.
- Other duties as required.
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years accounts payable experience; 1-2 years supervisory experience
- Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Oracle experience a plus
- Good understanding of General Ledger functions
- Experience and focus on process improvements is a must
- Excellent customer service skills
- Attention to detail and excellent communication skills
