Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking an Accounts Payable Representative in the Finance Department. This position is responsible for processing payments to vendors, assisting with payroll processing, and various other accounts payable duties.

• Responsible for processing of accounts payable invoices and payment requests; reviews payments for compliance with The College's payment policies and procedures.
• Resolves any payment problems with the departments and vendors.
• Responsible for timekeeping system reconciliation, entry of various payroll forms, and other duties to assist in the processing of payroll.
• Responsible for all aspects of the food service operation billing including reviewing invoices for accuracy and compliance with The College's payment policies and procedures.
• Process invoices for payment by DPR and billing.
• Performs reconciliation of the disbursement bank accounts.
• Enter all cash disbursements, journal vouchers, uploads, and Departmental Transfers in Banner. Reconcile inter departmental payments with the State Treasurer's Office.
• Responsible for monthly accounts receivable billing for related organizations and reconcile general ledger accounts for billing accuracy.
• Act as departmental purchasing card liaison.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma with related accounts payable, payroll, and accounting experience. Bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for work experience. Knowledge of the accounting practices, principles, and terminology. Knowledge of accounts payable and payroll processing. Ability to proficiently apply mathematical concepts and to analyze and interpret related data. Excellent customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with excel, adobe and other software preferred.
