Summary:
We’re looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist. This position reports to the Controller and is responsible for timely and accurate reporting, recording journal entries, and preparing reconciliations.
Essential Functions:
- Perform basic office tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, etc.
- Assist the accounting department in daily, monthly, and annual activities including month-end closes and year-end audits
- Prepare basic journal entries and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
- Research and resolve any discrepancies on general ledger accounts
- Maintain accurate records with a high level of efficiency and attention to detail
- Ensure that all transactions are recorded accurately and timely with adherence to deadlines
- Abide by company procedures and accounting principles

Skills/Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma required; more education generally preferred
- General experience in accounting/bookkeeping department
- Basic knowledge of accounting concepts (this will be tested)
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Demonstrated competence with ERP or Accounting software applications (i.e. Eclipse, Oracle, Great Plains, Peachtree) and general comfort with technology
