We are hiring a Accounting Manager to join our WinField United business unit accounting team. In this position you will lead the general accounting, reporting, and financial controls and procedures for the Crop Protection Products (CPP) business. This position requires a strong, flexible leader who is results-oriented and has strong accounting and analytical skills.
This position is located at our Arden Hills, MN Corporate Headquarters (Hybrid Work Arrangement)
Primary responsibilities include:
Oversee the month-end close process for the crop protection business of Winfield, which includes: reviewing journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations; and provide management reporting.
Coordinate and monitor preparation of supporting schedules for the year-end audit and serve as a point of contact with the external auditors.
Execute the month-end close process, improving and monitoring control procedures, and provide management reporting to ensure that financial results are accurate, timely, and in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
Team with business and technology partners to improve efficiencies and improve the control environment. Drive process improvement activities by leading or supporting projects and other initiatives. Participate in various projects with the Winfield business. Maintain good customer relations and communication flow with Winfield business partners.
Provide leadership, professional development and coaching to the accounting staff (3 direct reports), including conducting mid-year and year-end performance reviews. Provide guidance and feedback, promote, and develop a team atmosphere, and monitor individual workloads and adjust as needed.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, corporate policies, and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
Experience-Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting required. CPA preferred.
A minimum of 5-6 years of progressive finance/accounting experience required. Public accounting experience preferred.
Prior experience managing a team.
Knowledge/proficiency of JD Edwards or other ERP systems, Hyperion, data warehouse tools, strong excel
Competencies-Skills:
Effective interpersonal communication skills – both verbal and written.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment under strict deadlines.
Strong process design, system understanding and project implementation skills.
Ability to understand complex transactions in the general ledger along with strong analytical skills to assess variances and trends with ability to summarize information for management review.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy required.
