Job Type: Full-time/Exempt
Location: Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area/Hybrid
Start Date: Immediate; June 1
Position Background: This position supports KSA headquarters as an Accounting Director and reports to the COO. The candidate is responsible for the management and reporting of financial data of the organization. Their duties include preparing financial statements, examining and analyzing the company’s accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial reporting and other standard accounting procedures.
Position Responsibilities:
- Full-cycle accounting to include cash management, AP, AR, GL, and payroll.
- Maintain accounting policies and procedures and system of internal controls to comply with GAAP, FAR and Business System requirements.
- Generate monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP and lead monthly review and analysis with leadership.
- Analyze data and provide KPIs for monthly reporting.
- Submit customer invoices in WAWF/PIEE or other customer systems as required.
- Serve as system administrator for Unanet ERP system, establishing people and projects for time and expense reporting; Maintain system for proper posting in GL.
- Work with PMs to provide information for monthly reports, including commitments and funding balance.
- Analyze contract profitability and report to Leadership.
- Work with Contract Manager and PM to track subcontractor commitments.
- Create and update quarterly budgets; monthly budget vs actual review.
- Develop and analyze indirect rates.
- Annual incurred cost submission.
- Work with CPA firm to finalize annual financial statements and tax returns.
- Participate in business operations planning.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance Required.
- CPA or candidate preferred.
Position Requirements:
- 7-10 years of relevant experience.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of Unanet and Paylocity required.
- Experience with FAR cost accounting requirements.
- Motivated self-starter and extremely detail oriented; able to multi-task.
- Able to collaborate and work as a team.
