The Accounting Coordinator should be a highly skilled, detail-oriented individual who excels at multitasking. This position will be the point of contact between positions within the accounting department, other teams, and external parties. The Accounting Coordinator may handle bookkeeping, assist in prepping financial reports, taxes, audits, resolving discrepancies and other accounting functions.

This position will be working primarily in the Eastern to Central time zones with our multiple site locations, so residential preference would coincide or standard working hours would mostly be between 7am-7pm CST. Headquartered in the Kansas City, MO area.

Accountabilities

  • Working with other members of the accounting department to compile, analyze, and report financial data
  • Making journal or ledger entries
  • Preparing weekly, monthly, and yearly financial reports, and budgets
  • Assisting with tax preparation, audits, and identifying and resolving discrepancies
  • Act as a point of contact between internal departments and accounting, serving as a liaison between accounting and external parties, including clients, suppliers, and lenders
  • Using bookkeeping software and entering information into company files or databases, ensuring that all financial records are complete and accurate
  • Ensuring that company bills are paid and debts are collected
  • Implementing and enforcing financial and inventory controls
  • Performing other duties as assigned or necessary.

Key Metrics & Targets

  • Assisting and/or publishing of monthly financial statement packages by calendar day 15
  • Weekly communication to key stakeholders
  • Staying current on the company, local, state, and federal financial regulations, and policies
  • Executes timely and effective reporting process
  • Maintenance & execution of accounting policies including chart of accounts
  • Develops solutions to key business problems utilizing data to inform decisions

Key Capabilities

· Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization

· Analytical and trustworthy

· 2+ years’ experience in accounting positions, bookkeeping, management, or relevant field

· Collaboration and teamwork

· Willing to embrace change and commitment to continuous improvement

· Complex problem solving

· Accounting technical skills including purchase accounting and consolidations, a plus

· CPA certification preferred but may not be required

· Proficiency with computers, bookkeeping software and systems and strong typing skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
