Aurora Management Services is looking for an experienced Accounting Associate to join its highly motivated and ambitious team.
What Will You Do?
The Accounting Associate will provide extensive family office services that include personal accounting and net worth reporting; budgeting and cash flow planning; bill paying and expense reporting; tax planning coordination; investment and balance sheet administration; trust and estate administration; and lifestyle management.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the full cycle of books and records for family members including the accounting for and reporting on banking and brokerage accounts, investment LLCs, vehicles, real estate, and other assets
  • Manage the full bill pay process including cash flow processes and vendor management
  • Record journal entries for P&L, capture all items for balance sheet, and identify tax-deductible expenses
  • Lead the cash management process including all data entry and bookkeeping recordation; wire and cash transfers; interfamily cash transfers; and capital calls, redemptions, and expense payments including those for an LLC in which a family member is acting as its managing member
  • Download, record, and reconcile credit card, bank account, and investment activity
  • Prepare monthly cash flow/budgeting reports and assist on the preparation of quarterly financial statements
  • Manage payroll services and interact with benefits providers to ensure proper remuneration of domestic staff
  • Provide various tax services including payment processing, returns review, and liability forecasting; act as the chief liaison between family members and accounting firms
  • Create annual operating budgets and maintain cash flow projections v. actuals data, including monthly reporting for all business units, entities, and individuals
  • Maintain documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury
What Are We Are Looking for in a Candidate?
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting working within a multi-company or family office/multi-family office environment
  • Proficient Quickbooks and Excel user
  • Able to work well within a close-knit team but also with minimal supervision
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and possessing tenacious follow-up skills
  • Able to produce in a fast-paced environment with regularly changing priorities, time frames, and deadlines
  • Proven ability to self-start and see projects through to their completion
  • Proven ability to maintain the confidential integrity of sensitive financial information
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • CFP®, CPA, or Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Public accounting experience
  • Project management experience
This is a remote position opportunity, but applicant must reside in EST or CST time zone.
