Accounting Assistant

Our client, a 70-year-old family-owned Lancaster Company is looking for an Accounting Assistant. This 32-40 hour per week position will report directly to and support the Corporate Controller with main job responsibilities in accounts payable and receivable.

Duties include:

• Verifying the accuracy of vendor invoices
• Entering invoices into accounting software
• Processing bi-weekly vendor payments
• Preparing customer invoices
• Applying cash receipts
• Open account statement reporting and collections
• Maintaining vendor and customer files
• Project work as assigned

Required Skills
The ideal candidate will have:

• Associates degree in related area of study or at least four years of experience in similar role
• Strong knowledge of basic principles and practices of bookkeeping
• Experience using accounting software
• Excellent problem-solving and follow through practices
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
• Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook
• High level of detail and accuracy in their work
• Ability to operate standard office equipment
• A strong work ethic
• Honest and trustworthy traits
