We are seeking an Accounting Assistant in Wausau, WI at Aspirus, Inc. This individual accurately prepares and maintains records dealing with the general ledger, accounts payable, cash receipts and deposits, cash reimbursements, fixed assets, and other related subsystems.

Job Specific Duties

• Completes daily bank deposits, cash sheets, accounts receivable analyses, and transfer of funds.
• Reconciles bank statements and prepares analysis as needed.
• Supports the broad, overall accuracy of accounts payable and related activities through a system of checks and balances.
• Assures proper and timely payment of invoices using accounting and scanning software.
• Assists and participates with computer updates, fixes and performs testing to assure accuracy of systems, including OnBase scanning/indexing/invoice routing system.
• Assists with unclaimed property processing.
• Assists and supports calendar year-end processing including 1099’s reporting and system maintenance.
• Serves as the Fiscal Services’ contact person responsible for responding to inquiries regarding accounts payable policies and procedures and customer inquiries.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of accounting standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of experience with courses in business. An Associate Degree in Accounting with computer experience in spreadsheets, word processing and databases beneficial.
• Previous applicable experience in bookkeeping and business office procedures including accounts receivable, cash management, payroll and accounts payable.

Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. 80 hours per pay period. Benefits package available.
