Accountant - Pharmacy Payable - Remote
Job Description
The Pharmacy Payable Accountant is responsible for moderately complex accounting activities relating to pharmacy and member claims payments and related general ledger accounts and resulting financial statement impacts.
Responsibilities
- Support month end and year end accounting close procedures
- Maintain all general ledger accounts associated with pharmacy and member payments
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and related supporting schedules ensuring reconciling items are researched and resolved in a timely manner
- Participate in supporting the annual audit for areas of accounting responsibility
- Calculate accrual entries and complete timely and accurate general ledger entries
- Assist in implementation of new processes related to pharmacy payable accounting
- Assist team members with analysis projects
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting or related area of study or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience; HS diploma or GED is required
- 2 years of relevant experience
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship
Additional Qualifications
- Intermediate level knowledge of Excel (including detailed understanding of v-lookups, pivot tables and formulas) and Word; familiarity with ERP systems
- Intermediate accounting, GAAP and FASB knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work across various functions and teams
- Ability to interpret business needs and results
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with database tools: general ledger, fixed asset and accounting software
- Basic level knowledge of PowerPoint
- Experience working in large ERP systems
- MBA, CPA or CMA (Certified Management Accountant)

- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
