Accountant-Grant Administrator
Full Time
Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm
Basic Responsibilities:
Manages nonprofit accounting for all aspects of Community Development and the GECU Foundation. Responsible for critical financial decisions by collecting, tracking, recording, and maintaining accurate documentation to support monthly financial statements, including year over year comparisons and key ratios. Maintains accurate documentation of all financial transactions in order to prepare financial reporting. Prepares all financial reports. Manages the program budget, grant reporting, and monitors expenditures of grants. Ensures compliance with grant programs.
Typical Duties:
- Responsible for all financial controls including timely and accurate reporting, tracking, and predicting financial transactions and monthly bank and account reconciliations.
- Manages cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budget, grand awards, and other disbursements.
- Understands and maintains accounting for restricted and unrestricted funds.
- Manages grant programs and ensures compliance with the rules and regulations administered by the grantor.
- Identifies and develops strategies to optimize accounting, finance, and the grant administration process.
Critical Knowledge, Sills and Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, and 3-5 years related experience.
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements is required.
- Knowledge of grant procurement policies and programs.
- Attention to detail.
- High scanning ability and mental alertness.
- Good oral/written communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Word processing and spreadsheet software, familiarity with data analysis or audit software is desirable.
- High degree of integrity and respect for confidentiality and privacy of information is required.
