G. D. Nielson Construction, Inc., is seeking an Accountant/Full-Charge Bookkeeper to join their Accounting team.

A successful candidate in this role operates independently and has proven construction accounting knowledge or a strong desire to learn and grow.

Position Responsibilities

· Has an understanding of all functions within the department (AP, AR, payroll and construction job costing)

· Management, oversight and performance of timely and accurate financial reporting and reconciliations

· Manage all aspects of company financial reporting including monthly and quarterly reporting

· Assist with cash flow management and the accounts receivable function (billing, collections)

· Preparation, reconciliation and analysis of job schedules and work in process

· Generate ad hoc financial schedules and reports to internal management, banks and others as requested

· Preparation of Regulatory filings and assistance with schedules for income tax filing

· Analysis and recommendations on utilization, ROI, tracking and purchases of equipment and other assets

· Lead and motivate personnel including effective workflow, high morale, active communication, and staff development

· Assist in working with outside professionals including CPA firm, Banks, Bonding Company, insurance agents and income tax preparer.

Position Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

· Prior experience in an accounting role.

· Experience in the construction industry and/or job costing/project costing experience

· Knowledge of accrual basis accounting and financial reporting

· Very strong MS Excel skills

· Analytical skills and ability to generate data and perform analysis necessary in making business decisions

Desired (Not Required)

· Experience with SAGE 100 and/or other construction industry software

This position reports to the Company President.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
