Position: Academic Interventionist

Major Duties:

1. Provide educational interventions and progress monitoring for scholars who need support in reading, writing, and math.

2. Assist classroom teachers and other instructional staff in deploying strategies, skills, tools, techniques, and other interventions to effectively teach scholars.

3. Use identified interventions focused specifically on individual students’ needs.

5. Maintain data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress during interventions.

6. Provide the high-quality instruction time needed to move students to grade-level proficiency in core content areas.

Skills and Knowledge:

Knowledge of how to implement, monitor, and evaluate individual student progress

Universal screening for all students

Increasing levels of targeted support for those who are struggling

Knowledge of evidence-based strategies

A school-wide approach to student support. Teachers, counselors, psychologists, and other specialists work as a team when they assess students and plan interventions

Know how to monitor student progress so educators can use this data to help decide if more interventions are needed

This position requires strong interpersonal skills including the ability to:

Maintain collegial working relationships with all staff members

Excellent self-management skills

The ability to work independently, without direct supervision

This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills.

Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.

Instructs individual and small groups of students for the purpose of improving core academic skills.

Requirements:

* Must have earned at least 48 college credits or must pass the ParaPro Exam.

* Experience working with students in a school setting is preferred.

Ideal candidate:

* Bachelor's Degree

*Experience working with students in a K-12 setting.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.50 - $20.50 per hour
