The immense distances of the agricultural and ranching landscape are awe-inspiring yet a challenge when it comes to accessible healthcare for residents who may live far from clinics and hospitals. This Bridging Forward initiative will reduce poverty 30% by 2030 right in the heart of rural America. You will be based in the perfect small-town of Hastings, Nebraska with all the amenities of a city & the perfect vibe of a small community, including: Historic downtown and walkable residential areas Hastings College and Central Community College -beautiful campuses & educational opportunities Active young professional community - Hasting Young Professionals, Leadership Hastings & exciting event happenings like the Flatwater Festival, Do The Brew & Kool-Aid days. You will work with a great team in a new professional office environment centrally located as a community hub that also houses the Chamber of Commerce, Hastings Economic Development, Downtown Center Association & more. You will be working closely with the South Heartland District Health Department to: Craft outreach materials Engage organizational and community leaders Develop and launch enrollment events Be a creative problem-solver to brainstorm unique responses We will sponsor your participation in Leadership Hastings, provide membership to the Hastings YMCA, support your housing search if needed & connect you with professional mentors. ***See note about potential housing opportunity! Member Duties : You will be working in close partnership with South Heartland District Health Department, a vital health outreach, education & monitoring agency that works throughout a four-county region made up of rural & city environments. You will be increasing health care access to marginalized individuals, families and groups throughout this region by helping people enroll in health care insurance and problem-solve access issues. This will involve outreach events, system-level work to identify gaps and fantastic opportunities to work with public health professionals. Your work takes place in a fun office environment with a passionate and engaging team who constantly look out for each other, celebrate wins and collectively problem-solve challenges. *HOUSING Opportunity: there are two positions open for live-in Community Living Coordinators at Hastings College. This is a paid position with most work hours on the evenings and weekends. The position includes room and board. Contact us for info!
