Position Title: 988 Logistics Manager
Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm EST with flexibility
Salary Range: $60K - $70K

Administered by Vibrant and funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (Lifeline) provides free and confidential emotional support and crisis counseling to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, across the United States. The Lifeline comprises a national network of more than 180 local crisis centers, uniting local resources with national best practices. In July 2022, 988 will become the new 3-digit number for the Lifeline. As an easy-to-remember, universal number for people to contact when they experience a suicidal or mental health crisis, 988 will improve access nationwide to the Lifeline’s vital crisis services.

Position Overview:
The Manager, 988 Logistics will support the Director of Administration and Logistics by organizing activities related to in-person meetings, trainings and conferences, and related travel activities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manages 988 event coordination, which includes (but is not limited to): planning and organizing committee meetings/conferences/trainings, contracting with travel-related vendors, booking travel, scheduling between multiple organizations, managing catering/ground transportation and other on-location needs, developing budget proposals for approval, helping with outreach for speakers/participants
  • Provides event support which includes (but is not limited to): creating folders on the shared drive for organization, proving templates to staff for meeting materials/handouts and supporting the creation of meeting visuals with staff input, producing agendas, writing thank you notes, processing reimbursements and expense reports.
  • Develops an understanding of the internal system, Kissflow, to process expense reports and credit card/invoice requests
  • Supports event related budget tracking to ensure all expenditures are in alignment with existing grants
  • Connects with Director of Administration and Logistics, on a weekly basis to share progress, surface roadblocks, and brainstorm solutions
  • Engages in professional development activities (e.g., DEIB trainings)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Courteous and professional manner
  • Detail-oriented, with effective time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to establish productive and collaborative relationships with all levels of staff
  • Ability to be flexible and versatile in a changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency
  • Ability to operate in a fluid environment requiring creativity, enthusiasm, and multi-tasking to meet deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Prior experience supporting senior management in an administrative capacity or experience in a travel or logistics role preferred
  • Interest in mental health/suicide prevention and some familiarity with the nonprofit sector preferred

Physical and Sensory Requirements
Mostly sedentary work; using standard office equipment including: a computer, keyboard, and telephone
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under stress
  • Ability to respond to telephones and other auditory stimulation
