Position Overview

Responsible for properly packaging all retail line products.

  • Ensure date on machine matches product date
  • Plug in rollers
  • Check date if partial pallet is present
  • Check amount of product on partial pallet (number of cases)
  • Set up boxes for packaging
  • Package product
  • Check product while packaging to ensure it is up to code with correct date and package
  • Run product through taper/dater
  • Placed filled and taped boxes on pallet using correct stacking pattern for each particular product
  • Ensure boxes are dated correctly
  • Wrap finished pallets
  • Move pallets into and out of the packaging room using pallet jack or following the Pallet Lifting Policy
  • Take any unfinished product to cooler
  • Count unfinished pallet. Tag and document unfinished pallet
  • Change line and display printers for different products
  • Change dates on printers
  • Open bad pouches for rework
  • Fill water tester with water and plug in
  • Date paperwork for the day
  • Conduct leak test every 15 minutes and document
  • Conduct oxygen headspace check every 15 minutes and document
  • Conduct code and date check every hour and document
  • Document amount of all packaged product
  • Document amount of bad product
  • Document who worked on each product and for how long
  • Document the weights of bad product, type of product and date of product
  • Take out all trash and excess cardboard and put in dumpster
  • Sweep floors
  • Empty water from water tested at end of day
  • Wipe out water tester at the end of the day
  • Unplug radio
  • Clean all tables with sanitizing wipes
  • Put unused boxes back on pallets
  • Complete daily paperwork\

Requirements

  • Have a positive and professional attitude
  • Follow GMPs at all times
  • Participate in daily LEAN meetings and stretches
  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow safety policies
  • Notify management immediately of any unsafe situations
  • Follow all Food Safety Policies
  • Must always follow LOTO (Lock out Tag out) program
  • Regular attendance is required
  • Prompt, on time reporting to work stations is required
  • Ability to walk on uneven surfaces, ramps and stairs
  • Ability to safely walk on slick surfaces due to working conditions
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, bend, twist and stoop on a regular basis throughout shift
  • Strength Factor Level 3-Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly
