Job Description
We are looking for a General Worker responsible for Hostler Driver to support warehouse/logistics shipment/delivery/packing/unpacking within guidelines set by the shipper and customer.
Responsibilities
- Arranges Shipments by examining destination, route, rate, delivery time; dispatches to carriers
- Operate powered industrial lift trucks (forklift) and order picker to push, pull, lift, stack or move product, equipment, and materials
- Responsible for using an industrial tractor to move trailers as instructed within the yard to facilitate shipping and receiving functions. Will rely on instructions and pre-established procedures to perform daily job tasks.
- Responsibilities include but not limited to hooking and unhooking trailers, moving trailers in and out of doors, securing, and sealing outbound trailer doors. Will ensure all trailers are loaded or empty.
- Demonstrate a commitment to process excellence
- Demonstrate an understanding of the client’s Supply Chain quality policy
- Relocating, docking and transporting 40’ and 53’ trailers within our facility. They must be able to
- keep up with a fast paced operation
- Handle trailers quickly in tight spaces
- Insures cargo and equipment is secure prior to moving to prevent injury, shifting of product and equipment damage
- Safety – inspects truck equipment and supplies, such as: tires, lights, breaks, fuel, DEF, oil and water
- Perform other job related duties as required
- Flexible to work overtime when needed
- Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store) Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
- Report any discrepancies
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations Handle order processing and order fulfillment.
- Additional tasks required by Management
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma degree or experience preferred.
- Ability to work fairly independently.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions from Supervisor or Lead.
- Ability to work in a variety of climates and conditions; warehouse facilities that are hot in the summer and cold in the winter.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Must possess intermediate computer skills.
- Accurate data entry skills. Must be detail-oriented
- Has keen knowledge of logistics operations
- Able to work in multicultural environment & shiftwork
- Ability to work in a team environment while delivering independent results
- Must have prior experience using industrial equipment. Prior experience working in a distribution environment to backup, hook, and drop trailers is preferred.
- Must be able to work as assigned outside and in a warehouse environment.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have a safe driving record.
- Must have experience using a sit down forklift, preferably within the last year.
- WORK HOURS : Wed-Sat 0700-1700
